End of Year Giving

The Catholic Foundation for Diocese of Salina offers various giving options that allow you to aid your parish, Catholic School, or ministry directly. You can even take advantage of tax-efficient giving options, making this an ideal time to support your faith with a gift before the end of the year.

Cash: Giving cash is easy and the most popular way to make a charitable gift. We can accept gifts via mail: PO Box 1696, Salina KS 67402 or online at givecfds.org

Long-Term Appreciated Securities: Assets (such as stocks, bonds, mutual fund shares and closely held stock) that have been held for at least one year and have increased in value can be a tax-efficient way to give. You could save on both capital gains tax and income tax by being able to deduct its full fair market value.

Donor Advised Funds: The Catholic Foundation is a charitable organization that may accept gifts from a donor advised fund (DAF). With a DAF, your contributions can grow tax-free through investments, potentially providing extra funds for the causes you care about.

Qualified Charitable Distribution: If you’re 70 ½ or older, you can give from your Individual Retirement Account (IRA) directly to a Catholic ministry through the Diocese of Salina and not pay income taxes on the gift. If you are required to take a minimum distribution, your gift could satisfy all or part of your required minimum distribution (RMD).

Gift of Grain: Maximize tax benefits while supporting your faith. Turn bushels of grain into a gift and potentially
save on taxes and deduct the cost of production. Simply provide the elevator with instructions for the transfer to the foundation. The foundation will work directly with the elevator to sell the grain and receive the proceeds.

Year-End Giving Opportunities

Seminarian Education Fund: Provide essential funding to cover recruitment, education, and living expenses for seminarians as they embark on their long path to the priesthood. We are currently blessed with 16 seminarians on their discernment journey.

Bishop’s Annual Appeal – Call to Share: The appeal supports the mission of the Diocese of Salina through the multitude of ministries and programs that transform countless lives across the diocese each year. From the youth attending religious education to the retired clergy, the formation of seminarians, and much more – the appeal sustains the endeavors of our diocese.

Communications and Publications: Help spread the good news of the things that are happening in our diocese, and the good news of Jesus Christ with media and the written word. Through The Register and faith, podcasts, website, and social media we can spread the good news across the four corners of our diocese.

Catholic Schools Scholarship Tax Credits: Make a Catholic education available to children in our diocese by contributing to the scholarship granting organization (SGO) and receive a 75% Kansas income tax credit.
